Terms of service

A Little Off Script sells physical printed letters and monthly subscriptions through alittleoffscript.com. These terms apply to purchases made through our website.

Our Shipping Policy, Subscription Policy and Refund Policy form part of the conditions of your purchase. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.

Our letters

Subscriptions provide one physical issue per month. A one-off purchase provides the letter described on its product page and does not create a subscription.

The contents of each issue are described on the relevant product page. Additional enclosures may vary and are included only where stated. Minor differences in print colour or finish may occur, but this does not affect your rights if an item is defective or does not match its description.

Orders and payments

Please provide accurate contact, billing and delivery information and check your order before completing payment. You must be legally able to enter into the purchase and authorised to use the selected payment method.

The price, applicable taxes, contents and delivery arrangements are shown before you place your order. Standard, untracked postage is included in the price of subscriptions and one-off letters.

Your first payment is taken at checkout. We will send an order confirmation by email. If we cannot fulfil an order, we will contact you and refund any payment for goods we cannot supply.

If we discover a pricing or product-description error affecting your order, we will explain it and seek your agreement before making any change. We will not charge an increased price without your consent. Any cancellation or correction remains subject to your legal rights.

Subscriptions and automatic renewal

Monthly subscriptions renew automatically each month. Six-month prepaid subscriptions are charged in advance and renew automatically for another six-month term unless cancelled before renewal. Prepaid issues are delivered separately, one per month.

Both plans are ongoing. They do not automatically end. The price and billing schedule for your selected plan are shown before purchase and included in your confirmation.

By purchasing a recurring plan, you authorise the recurring payments disclosed at checkout. We use Appstle to administer subscriptions.

You may cancel future renewals by emailing hello@alittleoffscript.com. Cancellation applies to charges not yet processed when your request reaches us. Any subscription-management options available through your account or confirmation email may also be used.

Cancelling renewal does not automatically refund payments already made. Paid issues continue to be sent unless you separately exercise an applicable withdrawal right or another remedy applies. Our Subscription Policy and Refund Policy explain these arrangements.

Dispatch and delivery

We dispatch from Lisbon, Portugal, on the 10th of each month, or the next working day if the 10th falls on a weekend or public holiday in Portugal.

New subscriptions and one-off orders purchased and paid for by 23:59 on the 5th, Lisbon time (Europe/Lisbon), join that month's dispatch. Orders received after the cutoff join the following month's dispatch. Any different launch pre-order schedule will be clearly stated before purchase.

Active subscriptions follow their agreed billing schedule and receive one issue each month while payments are up to date.

All letters travel by standard, untracked post. Delivery may take up to 30 working days after dispatch. This is an estimate, and occasional delays may occur. The use of untracked post does not remove your rights if a letter is lost, damaged or delivered late.

See our Shipping Policy for delivery details, address changes and missing letters.

Withdrawal and refunds

You may notify us that you wish to withdraw within 14 days after receiving a one-off letter. For a subscription providing regular deliveries under one contract, this period starts when you receive the first issue. You may also notify us before delivery.

We do not require you to return printed material when you withdraw or receive a refund or replacement under our Refund Policy.

The Refund Policy explains how to notify us, refund timing and how we handle damaged, incorrect or missing letters. Nothing in these terms restricts statutory withdrawal rights that apply to subscription renewals.

Taking part in an issue

Participation in the activities described in our letters is voluntary. You can adapt or skip a suggestion according to your circumstances.

When taking part, respect other people's consent and privacy, obtain permission where needed and follow applicable laws and venue rules. Any optional expenses you choose to incur are separate from your purchase from A Little Off Script.

We do not guarantee a particular personal outcome from an activity. This does not limit our responsibility for the products we supply or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Use of our content

Our original writing, designs and other protected material belong to A Little Off Script or the relevant rights holders.

You may use the material for personal enjoyment, give your physical letter to someone else and share the cards or other pieces as intended by an issue. Purchasing a letter does not give permission to reproduce or distribute complete issues, sell copies or use protected material commercially without permission, except where permitted by law.

Changes to prices and terms

Changes to prices do not affect issues already paid for. Before changing the price or material conditions of a future subscription renewal, we will notify you in advance and give you an opportunity to cancel before the change takes effect. Where your consent is legally required, we will obtain it.

Updated terms apply to new purchases from their stated effective date. We will not apply changes retrospectively to remove rights attached to an existing purchase.

Complaints and disputes

Please contact hello@alittleoffscript.com if you have a complaint about an order or subscription.

For disputes within its competence, you may contact the Centro de Arbitragem de Conflitos de Consumo de Lisboa through www.centroarbitragemlisboa.pt. Access to consumer dispute-resolution procedures does not remove any right you have to bring a claim before a competent court.

Applicable law

These terms are governed by Portuguese law. If mandatory consumer protections in your country of habitual residence apply, this choice of law does not deprive you of those protections.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits mandatory consumer rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
